Why a prescription is not guaranteed

Version 1 - last reviewed 23 July 2026 by Ahmed Al-Liabi (Superintendent Pharmacist) - next review due 22 October 2026

This is a health service, not a shop. You are asking a prescriber for their professional decision, not buying a product.

The prescriber decides what is safe and right for you. Sometimes that means no prescription. Sometimes it means a different next step, like seeing someone in person.

If the answer is no, we explain what to do next. You can contact the clinic through the route it gave you about the decision.

If the assessment stops you

Some answers mean we must stop and point you to urgent care first. That is a safety rule, not a judgement about you.
